8week Challenge: 2023 Countdown

Why 8 weeks?

If you know me, you know I'm not a fan of quick fixes or the classic 'drop two dress sizes in two weeks' nonsense. The reason for that is simple - it's not sustainable. This is different. We are talking about putting positive habits in place and it takes, on average, 66 days for habits to become automatic, a part of daily life. So let's put those last 66 days of the 2022 to good use!


How it works

Each week in the next 8 weeks (starting 7th November) we will have a weekly focus for our fitness and nutrition. These are essentially different habits that we will stack on top of each other and carry into January. Suitable for complete beginners, mums, busy execs and gym bunnies - we can all do with a reminder of the basics. This is not a 'go hard and go home' programme; it's about putting positive lifestyle hacks in place and giving you the knowledge and confidence to make these a part of your daily or weekly routine.


What do I need?

You can participate in the challenge without any equipment, though a yoga mat is highly recommended. There will be optional, complementary exercises you can do during this time, which require a set of dumbbells (3/5kg) but not a requirement. Most importantly though, take part and put some time aside for yourself in an otherwise hectic time of year. You will feel better for it, believe me.


How much time does it take?

The whole point of this is to make positive lifestyle changes that become an integral part of your daily life. This is why I am only asking for 10-15 minutes of your time, sometimes a little more, on a daily basis. You can take part in the challenge if you already go to the gym, if you already do PT sessions with myself or others, or if you are already active. This challenge is meant to complement what you already do, or encourage you to get started if life has simply got in the way of any activity recently.
